James Hooker: Teacher's Shocking Affair with...

A Modesto, California teacher named James Hooker is having a shocking affair with a student who just turned 18. The father left his wife and children to be with Jordan Powers, who is in his daughter's class.

Just last week, James Hooker resigned his position as a teacher at Modesto's Enochs High School. Jordan's mom Tammie Powers called the teacher a "master manipulator." Can you even imagine being in her shoes? Now she is working to find out if there is any way to charge Hooker with something criminal. She does not believe that the relationship started after Jordan turned 18. Do you?

Amazingly, despite all the backlash and the fact that he left his own family, James Hooker does not have any regrets about his relationship with student Jordan Powers. Wow! Something is not right here.

Now Jordan has stopped going to school, and she will finish her senior year with independent study. This also does not seem like a healthy decision. Now she will be with the 41-year-old all the time, so she will lose all sense of reality it seems. Plus, how is this couple going to earn a living since Hooker quit his job?

You're telling me there's something not right! I think this relationship is DOOMED to fail. Have we learned nothing from Pam Smart or Mary Kay Letourneau?

In almost 80% of the cases, when a girl that age get marry or cohabit with men, regardless of their age, they breakup before age 24. This is the point when they become adults, and their whole view of the world, and those around them, changes. This even includes any children she may have by than. Yes, they will be breaking within the next five years, if not much sooner, but likely not before she has at least one child so that she can get him for child support.

This kind of thing is common. With the growing shortage of young men as a result of the dropping birth rates of male children since 1980, the only option this young girls have is to go for someone much older, or much younger. They are Master Manipulators of males of any age, with 20% of teen girls wanting to be teen mothers.

What he has done is wrong, and he will regret it sooner than later. I work with divorced and single fathers, but these are the type of guys that there are times when I wish for a baseball bat and their heads on a platter.

Wouldn't there also,be a declining rates of girls? I don't think parents are aborting one sex more than the other like some countries such as India that tend to abort girls. So I would guess the ratios of girls to boys is close to 50/50 in the US.

Anyways this is a bizarre story but here seems to many stories of teacher student affairs nowadays. How many relationships last anyways they aren't even engagd.

if society didn't give tacit approval to this kind of behavior by accepting it in certain "choice" people (Woody Alan) it would be less prevalent and seen as more disgraceful

I don't have a problem with the age difference...in fact, I think it's far more biologically normal than society is willing to admit.

However being a teacher, he was in a position of authority, and hence it's questionable whether he misused that.

This is becoming way too common - teachers sleeping with students. I don't understand it. And no, I don't believe he waited until she turned 18 before starting the affair. He didn't wait until he was free to date, he didn't wait until she graduated from high school; hard to believe he had the mind to wait until she turned 18. There is no excuse for this.
