The Reason Rally is going to be the biggest atheist event in history and guess who's going to be there: The Westboro Baptist Church -- how unsurprising. The event has already attracted such high-profile people in the secular community as Jessica Ahlquist, Richard Dawkins, James Randi and David Silverman, but the country's largest gathering of non-believers wouldn't be complete without America's most notorious Christian-based hate group.
The Westboro Baptist Church released the following statement on Twitter regarding their plans to picket The Reason Rally:
"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God" Ps14:1 Here's lookin' at you, @ReasonRally!Your [unwarranted] pride is your destruction. Dear @ReasonRally: How gracious of you! We accept your invitation & will picket your parade of fools 3/24. Love,WBC."
What would be truly entertaining would be if the WBC unveils themselves as trollish atheist attention-seekers who like to draw negative attention to the most notable downfalls of the Christian religion. However, that's highly unlikely.
Megan Phelps-Roper dimwittedly believes that atheists will either magically fall into the bigoted beliefs of the WBC at the Reason Rally, or they will be "further condemned" by this so-called god thingy they keep preaching about.
So at least there is more reason to show up for the largest secular gathering in history on March 24th in Washington D.C., and that's to at least have a hearty laugh at the Westboro Baptist Church as they preach their nonsense at those who find them nothing more than novel entertainment figures.

Cities and towns often discover it is actually cheaper to offer a
low-ball" settlement to end the affair and say "good riddance" as the Westboro bunch depart.
It is, generally best, to just ignire them or laugh at them just do not do anything illegal or anything they can sue you for.... that is why they are present.
You know by your logic -- several (and I mean several) people are "not credible" as people...because they mention or have been mentioned by this hate group. That includes dead soldiers, families who have been victimized by them and those who protest them. That also counts nearly every single news sources on the planet.
I find that stance rather illogical ;) I'm sure some people don't want missing children to be wasting news space, but they're still stories that matter to a vast number of people who want to know about what's going on.
In cases on the WBC -- it unites people to help in stopping them. Thanks to the "space" given to those nutjobs, there are plenty of people who unite and arrive at funerals to stop them from protesting.
I think your comment wasn't very well thought out -- and quite insulting to anyone who tries to spread awareness of cultural and social problems.
2. You obviously didn't read the article and you grossly mis-comprehended my comment to you.
Good job embarrassing yourself.
