The body of missing Illinois woman Jessica "Jessie" Williams was discovered sometime this week in Washington Park by law enforcement officials after a search that has lasted for at least a week. The Collinsville woman was last seen by her boyfriend and was reportedly just released from jail.
Her mother expressed a concern that Jessie Williams was hooked on heroin, even though she had appeared to recently kick the habit. Detectives had an idea she would be in the East St. Louis area, but wouldn't comment on why, nor have they made many comments about the discovery of the missing woman's body in Washington Park.
There isn't an apparent cause of death and detectives aren't commenting until after an autopsy. They also don't know whether she died in the spot she was found or if she was moved there post-mortem. It would be interesting to find out more details as they arise. To many this may just seem like an open and shut case of a drug addict OD'ing in the streets somewhere, but it's also highly likely that she met foul play of some sort. Condolences are with the family.
