It is Good Friday, and there are some closings ahead of the Easter Sunday holiday as some businesses and institutions observe the holiday.
Many people want to know if the USPS will deliver mail on Good Friday? Yes, mail will be delivered today as usual throughout the U.S. However, many area schools and local businesses may close in observance of the day. While it is not a bank holiday, some banks may close early.
Have you checked your local schools to see if they are closed? This is generally determined by district, but often districts will schedule snow days into the yearly calendar, and if they are not used, then students, faculty, and staff will get this Friday off.
It seems that some states will close their state agencies for part or all of today as well. Are you an employee who gets the day off? It all depends on the state and county. Many will remain open the entire day, and employees who want off in observance of Good Friday will have to try to schedule vacation.
Because this is not a national holiday, the closings throughout the U.S. are up to the local governments or businesses. If you are not sure, be sure to call and check before you go somewhere tomorrow just in case. Do you or your kids have the day off?
