Thomasville, Georgia murder suspect, Jerrall Queen, was arrested near Cairo, Ga, after leading police on a high-speed chase. On April 14, Queen shot his wife, Tabitha Queen, on Bernice Glenn Road in Boston Ga. Decatur County deputies spotted the Thomasville murder suspect around 9:30pm. Officers state that he pointed a gun at them and speed away. At times, Queen was driving near 120 miles per hour.
In much of the area, the speed limit is only 45 miles per hour. There are many sharp turns and much of the area is woodlands. This is a very dangerous stretch of road. It is amazing that no one was injured during this high-speed chase, especially considering that this was a Saturday evening.
Harry Young, Grady County Sheriff states, "They were waiting for back up because we knew he was armed and dangerous and already committed one murder so we were trying to prevent anyone getting hurt.".
Queen stated that he wasn't going back to prison "so we knew we had to do everything to stop him." said Young. Police placed stop sticks on Highway 111. Queen crashed near Pine Park Road.
"He came through the spikes, he saw me standing up there with my shot-gun, at that point he got in my lane coming at me and just before he got there, that is when I leveled the shot-gun and got one shot off," says Young.
Queen, the Thomasville murder suspect, was not hit by the shotgun, but he crashed after his right front tire blew out. Sheriff Young says that Queen, the deputies, and the state troopers are fine.
Over the past few months, there has been an increase of violent crime in South Georgia. Many are afraid to leave their houses at night now. Is this increasing in your area also? Just in the surrounding 75 mile radius of this area, there has been several murders since the beginning of the year. Many of these towns haven't had a murder in over a decade.
