An incredibly lucky woman named Virginia Fike won the lottery two times in one day! What an amazing day that must have been. The Berryville, VA, resident actually held two Powerball tickets that matched five of the six winning numbers.
Each one of Virginia Fike's winning tickets is worth $1 million, so she is one lucky woman who is $2 million richer (before taxes, of course). Not surprisingly the winner is shocked to know that she held two winning tickets to the April 7 Powerball drawing.
She said, "I picked numbers based on my parents' anniversary and their ages at that time, divided by the year they were married. I just love the jackpot games and I play when I can afford it." She sounds like she is a responsible lottery player, and it has paid off for her.
When she heard that 14 tickets worth $1 million had been sold in the U.S. with two of them in her state of Virginia, Fike was visiting her mother in the hospital. She even joked with her mother about how funny it would be if they had won. Come to find out, she did win. Twice! How amazing.
Ultimately, Fike plans to help her parents and pay off bills with her unbelievable $2 million jackpot. Can you imagine winning the lottery two times in one day? It would certainly be overwhelming. Do you ever buy multiple tickets with the same number for the lottery? Will you be more likely to do something like this in the future now that you've heard about this woman and her incredible luck?
