With Tuesday's jackpot being so large, hopeful lottery winners are asking, "Did anyone win the Mega Millions?" The Mega Millions winning numbers for May 1, 2012 are 24, 27, 31, 45, 52, the Mega Ball number is 38, and the Megaplier is X 4. Tuesday's Mega Millions results showed that unfortunately, no one won the $102,000,000 jackpot, but there are plenty of lottery winners with smaller money prizes. Are you one of them?
May 1, 2012 Mega Millions Lottery Winners
The California Lottery sold two (2) Match 5 + 0 winning tickets, and was surprisingly upstaged this time by three (3) second-tier winners purchasing $250,000 tickets from the Illinois Lottery. The Maryland Lottery also sold one (1) Match 5 + 0 winning ticket for $250,000. Both California Mega Millions winners will each get $192,007 instead of the standard $250,000 payout because their prize amounts are pari-mutuel, and vary depending on ticket sales and number of winners. Too bad for them!
There were also thirty (30) Match 4 + 1 winners for $10,000 each. Each third-tier winner matched four out of five white Mega Millions winning numbers, and the Mega Ball number for the May 1, 2012 drawing. If any of these winners purchased Megaplier tickets, their prize winnings will be multiplied by 4 to $40,000 instead. How would you feel if you didn't want to waste $1 on a Megaplier ticket then missed out on an extra $30,000?
All together, there are 765,126 Mega Millions lottery winners holding tickets ranging from $2 to $250,000. There may even be a few millionaires in the bunch if the $250,000 winners purchased Megaplier tickets. What a deal!
When is the Next Mega Millions Drawing?
The next Mega Millions drawing is May 4, 2012 at 11:00pm EDT. Friday's estimated jackpot is $118,000,000 annuity, or $86,600,000 cash-value before taxes. Mega Millions winning numbers are drawn Tuesday and Friday evenings at WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia. Tickets are sold in 42 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Remember, playing the lottery should be fun, but sometimes too much lottery fun can be addictive and could ruin lives. Please play responsibly, and don't spend more than you're willing to lose.
