Last year, Bill Warren, who describes himself as a 'famed shipwreck explorer', made news when he announced plans to search for the body of Osama Bin Laden. Almost a year later, he claims that he has located the body and plans to start the process of getting to it on June 1st.
In an interview with Spanish newspaper El Mundo, Warren said, "I've located where they threw him away. I'm the only one with this information. He's 200 miles to the west of the Indian city of Surat." He claims he was able to pinpoint the location from photos recently released by the Navy. Is this guy serious? His motivation is quite unusual, Warren says he is doing this to prove something to himself because he doesn't 'believe the Obama administration'. So much so that he says he is worried that the American government will try to kill him or sink his boat! He said, "It is a great risk ...That area is full of spy satellites. And you can not hide from America." It seems Mr. Warren is a tad paranoid.
When Warren first announced that he would search for the body of Bin Laden, he was under the impression that it would cost around $1 million and that amount was being financed by 'associates'. Hopefully, no one forked over their cash because if they did, it's gone! Now he's saying it will cost him $200,000 (on his website) to finance his operation. He says he's trying to rent Russian deep diving equipment to find the body...but, wait, didn't he say he'd already located the body? Kind of, he believes that since he knows the location where the body was dropped, and since it was weighed down, it must be in the same place. Mr. Warren plans to get a DNA sample from the corpse in an attempt to prove if it is really Bin Laden.
Warren claims to have discovered the wrecks of over 150 ships and amassed 'treasure' that amounts to several million dollars. He has tried to uncover legendary wrecks in the past without success. The chances of him really knowing where the body actually is (if it is even in the ocean) are very slim! Finding a body bag in the deep Arabian Sea just isn't happening. If anyone thought it was even possible, people would have tried back when there was a $25 million reward for whoever could produce Osama Bin Laden's body.
Not many people buy the official story of the disposal of Bin Laden, especially when the government refuses to share any photos of the entire mission. Claiming he was chucked overboard into extremely deep water ensures that if there are any secrets, they're safe. As for Warren, he's claimed discovery of something in the past and he was wrong. In 1987, he said he had located the Trinidad, a famous Spanish ship loaded with Aztec gold that sunk off of the California coast in 1540. He never found it.
Do you believe that the US government actually performed a burial-at-sea with the body of Osama Bin Laden?

Now, even if it's not Bin Laden, then what? We all know that our government has never been above embellishing the truth. I wouldn't be surprised if the government brought his body and buried it in the U.S. somewhere. I, also, wouldn't be surprised if he is alive and being detained. I am just not surprised by anything. But, I have more important issues on my mind than where Bin Laden is, dead or alive.
It would serve no purpose to lie about it.
