John Edward's trial reveals many of his late wife Elizabeth's own words of pain when confronting John about his infidelity. The stories of her mother's mental anguish over her father's affairs sent their daughter Cate walking out on the trial in tears.
Elizabeth's words and actions around finding out about the affair came back to haunt the family through the testimonies in the courtroom. The day Elizabeth became aware of the National Enquirer's report about husband's affair, she collapsed in a ball in an airport parking lot; John Edwards' former aide, Christina Reynolds testified, according to The Hollywood Gossip.
Elizabeth Edwards' appeared to have calmed down, but once again confronted John in the airport after storming out of a bathroom. She said to her husband, "You don't see me anymore," and tore off her shirt and bra right there on the spot. Her husband "didn't have much of a reaction," said the former aide.
John denied the affair at this time and adamantly continued to do so until he admitted this at a later date. The stories of her late mother's pain and anguish caused by her father's infidelity and lies was too much for Cate Edwards to hear and she left the courtroom in tears.
