The Navy tested a new interceptor missile that not only has pinpoint accuracy, it puts on a great show as it comes out of the chute.
In the YouTube video below, a Wednesday night test of a short-range ballistic target rocket was filmed launching from a firing range located on Kauai, Hawaii.
The new weapon, designed by the Raytheon Corporation, is the next generation in short-range defense and will be sold to countries worried about strikes from bordering or nearby countries.

But the coolest thing about this video is the sense of dramatic flare in the segment showing the flaming rocket gearing up to strike its target dead on the nose.
The flame sequence capturing the multi-million dollar missile emerging from its silo will be one of those clips shown in every educational (or apocalyptic) film made on the cheap from now on.
It really is a thing of beauty. And it works too!
