A waiter named Greg Rubar received an amazing tip. A couple left him $5,000 to help replace his car. Can you imagine how wonderfully shocking that was for the 42-year-old server from D'Amico's Italian Market Cafe in Houston?
Rubar has served tables at D'Amico's for the past 16 years. A recent thunderstorm left him without a car, and a couple who have been his customers for eight years left him an astonishing tip! They gave him $5,000 to replace his ruined car. Wow! Doesn't that just give you goose bumps?
Of the amazing tip, Greg Rubar said, "He said, 'I'm not going to be giving you a tip for a while. Take this money. Go buy yourself a car.' Nobody ever gives me anything. They just wanted to help me out. They're nice people."
Can you even imagine? The couple had to feel wonderful knowing that they had helped out this man who has waited tables at the cafe for the past 16 years. He tried to return the money, but the generous couple would not take their gift back. Now, Rubar needs to find a reliable car so that he will not have to worry about how he will get to work anymore.
Have you ever given somebody in need a large tip or gift? If so, what were the circumstances? Have you ever been given something like this? What did it mean to your life at the time? Were you able to get ahead after somebody's generosity?
