Angela Corey, the George Zimmerman - Trayvon Martin prosecutor, is pitching a hissy fit and Harvard is having none of it, according to Alan Dershowitz, who just happens to be the one in her crosshairs.
It appears that not only is the right to bear arms and participate in a neighborhood watch on her "not to do" list, but she also takes issue with any legal commentator expressing themselves in a public forum. But no fear, Harvard set the southern woman straight in no time flat; essentially letting her know that wouldn't be muzzling Dershowitz no matter how much she wanted it, because he believes justice should not be blind.
The Orlando Sentinel had the story straight from Dershowitz's mouth. He says the Zimmerman prosecutor went on a 40-minute rant, threatening to sue Harvard as well as get him disciplined by the Bar Association.
It's all because he's calling it like it is, pointing out the legal irregularities in the case that point to some sort of agenda besides justice in the shooting, according to him. "Half-truths" littered her affidavit in the racially charged case, he says, as well as the absence of key facts, which she knew and didn't add.
Those are serious issues, and Dershowitz shouldn't be the only one in the legal community raising them, obviously. It is also interesting to note that the woman the Justice Dept. has been aiding since the beginning of the prosecutorial action must feel so unsure about the case that she is obviously trying to control the media information being put out to the public. And that means controlling her strongest detractor: Alan Dershowitz.
"She should go back to law school, where she will learn that it is never appropriate to submit an affidavit that contains a half truth, because a half truth is regarded by the law as a lie," the Harvard man said. And he knows of what he speaks, since George Zimmerman's wife Shelly now seems to have gotten her husband put back into jail for lying about the family's finances.
One would think a much more severe action would be exercised against a prosecutor allegedly doing the same thing, right?
A man's life hangs in the balance based upon the affidavit Angela Corey wrote up, and that's where the outspoken critic says she was "irresponsible" in allowing the half-truths to stand. According to him, the motivation behind such an action boils down to Corey using the Trayvon Martin affidavit as her "campaign speech for re-election." And that, if true, is definitely a crime worth addressing.
