Twenty-two-year-old Jaren Lockhart vanished Tuesday night in the New Orleans area. There aren't many sources out about this strange disappearance, but this is the second missing persons case in Louisiana to hit media headlines in 20 days. The other being the disappearance of Michaela "Mickey" Shunick, who vanished from Lafayette almost a month ago. In case you're curious, Lafayette is just a little over two hours from New Orleans. Hopefully these two cases are not connected, and thankfully the odds aren't that wide.
Sources aren't clarifying on who reported the 22-year-old woman missing, but it's being reported that her boyfriend was the last person to see her. This immediately doesn't settle well considering the statistics. In a vast majority of cases like these, if the last person to see a missing or slain person is a lover or scorned lover, the odds are stacked against the potential that someone else could be responsible.
Jaren's boyfriend claims that she was last seen getting into a cab to head to work—which is the 300 block of Bourbon Street. The highly trafficked area is a hot spot of activity so the possibility of her being literally abducted is in fact rather high, but it is also a possibility that she took off on her own. With there not being hardly a lick of information about this case it's hard to speculate. Hopefully more information comes out soon.
