A shrimp boat captain found more than he was looking for in the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Mexico—he found a prosthetic leg. This was no ordinary leg; it had the logo of the University of Kentucky Wildcats along with their mascot painted on it. The boat captain contacted the manufacturer of the leg and then its owner was easily found.
The owner of the prosthetic leg, Fred Robinson, lost the leg while swimming over the Memorial Day weekend. Robinson, who now lives in Florida, never even imagined that someone would find the leg. Robinson had the UK logo and mascot painted on his leg because he is a former running back for the school back in the 1980's.
The shrimp boat captain certainly went to the rescue of Fred Robinson's leg and hopefully he will be thanked very soon. The leg cost $30,000 so it is safe to assume that Robinson is very happy to have it back. There was no word as to the condition of the leg after being in salt water.
The next time you are out fishing, keep your eyes peeled. You never know what you might find!
