A Texas father repeatedly punched a man he found sexually abusing his 4-year-old daughter in the head until the abuser died. This is something many parents can understand doing because finding your child in a situation like that is unimaginable.
According to Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon, the Texas father casually knew the man he found abusing his daughter. Neither the father nor the abuser's names have been identified. According to the sheriff, the little girl is "OK besides the obvious mental trauma."
At least she is going to survive, and hopefully she will get immediate help and counseling to help her overcome the horror of what happened. Apparently she was left inside the house while members of her family tended their horses. The abuser was at the house for a social gathering, and he was known for his horse abilities.
It must have been incredibly terrible for the father to walk in and see something like that. Do you blame him for what he did? Can you imagine doing the same thing in the same situation? It would be awfully hard to show restraint. The father had to stop the man from hurting his daughter.
Harmon said that the Texas father had the right to defend his daughter. He said, "You have a right to defend your daughter. He acted in defense of his third person. Once the investigation is completed we will submit it to the district attorney who then submits it to the grand jury, who will decide if they will indict him."
Do you think this father should face charges in this situation?
