Nineteen-year-old Brittney Wood vanished at the end of May from the Mobile, Alabama area. The young mother vanished, allegedly, while on her way to the Styx River area -- which is 40 miles away from her home. She was on her way to visit with her uncle, Donnie Holland (also reported as Donnie Wood). When the young lady was reported missing by her family, Donnie Holland drove away from his home and then killed himself. This in and of itself spells disaster when it comes to looking for a "missing" person.
New tips have sent the family of Brittney Wood to the Grand Bay area, but officials aren't clarifying on the evidence that has led them in this direction. However, the family members of the missing woman are still holding onto hope that she is alive. This is highly unlikely given the simple fact that her uncle killed himself under such circumstances.
Even the family of the missing woman have their suspicions about her uncle Donnie Holland.
"I'm hoping to God and I really don't think he would hurt my baby," said her mother in an earlier report.
Hopefully these new leads pan out so this family can get the closure they need. It's not likely that Brittney is alive, and it's even more likely that she was either murdered by her uncle or he knew what happened to her enough to not want to face the music.
