Does anyone really want to see their breakfast cereal fried up into a ball, much less eat it? Deep-fried cereal debuted at the San Diego fair this month. Delicious or nasty? Who likes their cereal with good-old regular milk?
Obviously, Charlie Boghosian, creator of last year's deep-fried Kool Aid balls and owner of Chicken Charlie's, is clearly bored with frying just plain chicken. He even has fried Girl Scout cookies on his menu! Aren't there a few food items that should be saved from frying?
Some reviewers of the fried cereal are saying that seeing the amount of left-over grease in the bottom of the basket made them 'clutch' their hearts. No doubt their hearts (as well as the rest of their internal organs) were really not happy with that particular intake.
The deep-fried cereal, which comes in Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Trix varieties, will continue even after the San Diego Fair. Hearts at the Orange County Fair and L.A. County Fair will also be assaulted by this fried breakfast blob.
