Lincoln Lindsay, a sweet 8-month-old little boy, lost his life after his father forgot he was supposed to drop him off at daycare and instead drove to work and left the child in the vehicle. Sadly, it was hours before his father found the child. By then it was too late and the infant could not be resuscitated. This is the fifth child to die this year under similar circumstances.
Lincoln's father was frantic after finding his son, but what father wouldn't be? He rushed his son the five miles home to his wife who is a physician and called for emergency medical assistance but all to no avail. With temperatures getting higher, parents must start checking the backseat or more families will be devastated like little Lincoln Lindsay's.
So far, the authorities are treating Lincoln's death as nothing more than an accident. This very tragic accident was preventable. There were 33 children who perished last year after being left in a vehicle. Hopefully this year enough parents will pay more attention and that number will be lower.

However i still feel for this family's loss, from what information i have it sounds like a case of pure distraction, not willful neglect. But neglect comes in many forms and no matter the reason the results are often the same.
Sadly this won't be the last story like this we hear this year.
