Twenty-eight-year-old Summer McWhiney vanished late last Friday after walking to a McDonald's restaurant on the Shreveport-Barksdale Highway. She was last seen by family members who live with her, but surveillance footage has placed her inside of the McDonald's where she was seen talking to two unknown people. This is the third young blonde woman to vanish from Louisiana over the past month, which makes this a rather worrisome disappearance. There is no known connection to the disappearances of Mickey Shunick or Jaren Lockhart -- who was found dismembered. However, it's unsettling to see what is beginning to look like a trend of vanishing blonde women from this southern U.S. state.
Summer McWhiney is described as being developmentally disabled, and investigators are worried for her wellbeing. She is 5'5" and around 170 lbs. with short blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a teal-green shirt and blue jeans with white tennis shoes and a black jacket.
What's disappointing is that this strange disappearance wasn't reported upon in the headlines until this week. That means she has been missing for over a week now with no known updates in her case. Did her family wait this long to report her missing? She is an adult woman, so perhaps this is something that is in her character?
