There are new details in the Carnel Chamberlain case that indicate that this little boy was certainly murdered. The four-year-old's remains were discovered under the porch of the home inhabited by his mother and her boyfriend Anthony Bennett. In the latest update it's revealed that the 20-year-old man is now considered a person of interest in the disappearance and death of the Isabella child.
Little "Carnie," as his mother called him, had been missing for a week until investigators located his body beneath the porch of the home lived in by Jaimee Chamberlain and her boyfriend Anthony Bennett. Bennett has been described in several reports throughout the week as "uncooperative" with the search for the child. What is it going to take for this interesting-looking man to be considered a suspect instead of merely a "person of interest"?
There are people in the area who accuse Jaimee Chamberlain of being responsible for her son's disappearance, but it really seems like this is a case of a single mother's boyfriend abusing and murdering a young child. It happens all too often these days, and from the sounds of reports that's exactly what happened. The body of Carnel Chamberlain was described as being "very badly burned." This instantly creates a couple of questions regarding how the child was burned, but witness reports paint a gruesome picture. Neighbors in the area say that they recalled smelling a smokey "barbecue-like smell" coming from the area of Bennett's home the night little Carnal was reported missing.
The monster who did this, did so to conceal evidence of how the child died. That's to be certain. He wanted to dispose of the remains and eliminate any chance of an autopsy pinpointing a cause of death. Crimes of this nature are horrendous and are indicative of extreme mental issues. The other evidence in this case include "brown spots" that smelled of cleaner in the bathroom carpet and his shorts that he had been wearing. Bennett allegedly acted very nonchalant about the boy being missing. It's pretty safe to say that he did something unspeakable to this child before burning his remains and stashing them beneath his own home. So on top of being a complete and total sociopath -- he's a moron.
Here's to hoping Jaimee Chamberlain can pick up the pieces and move on without blaming herself too much. You just never know who you can trust and your significant other should be someone you depend on no matter what. Unfortunately that just was not the case in this story.

It certainly appears that far too many women get caught up today in relationships where their boyfriends end up being jealous and abusive to kids. What's even sadder is that many go from one abusive person to another.
(oh and he's Chippewa....from Isabella county)
