Police are not giving up hope on finding missing Colorado teenager Kayla Chadwick, whose mysterious disappearance left her distraught family and friends baffled about her whereabouts.
At least they are not getting discouraged, although the hopes of finding this 17-year-old girl seem to be getting dimmer with each passing week. The community of Fort Morgan, CO is holding a search and fundraiser Saturday for the girl who vanished in March after getting into an argument with her boyfriend.
Police are asking for help from people on horseback, all-terrain vehicles, and on foot, which doesn't sound encouraging. It sounds as if they are focusing on searching a wilderness area. Could a teen girl like Kayla Chadwick survive on her own in those rugged surroundings?
This story is tragic all around, but at least the Fort Morgan Police Department is remaining dedicated to locating the young woman. Chadwick vanished on March 27, and was wearing a plaid shirt, jeans and black shoes. Last month, authorities discovered a body wrapped in a tarp near Interstate 76, but it turned out to be a middle-aged male.
