Jaimee Chamberlain, mother of Carnel Chamberlain, should face charges in the child's abuse and death. There are a lot of details in this case that reveal a pattern of neglect, abandonment and abuse in the life of the slain child, and Jaimee Chamberlain seems to be right at the center of it. This young woman is still free while her boyfriend Anthony Bennett is in federal custody regarding the abuse of the little boy, but it's her fault the abuse continued and it's her fault this happened in the first place. Why isn't she in jail?
The executive director of Safe Haven Ministries, Jillaine Harkema, is trying to justify the blatant disregard Jaimee Chamberlain had for her son's safety by assuming that she too was being abused. However, it's been long revealed by other sources that the woman did not even want her son. She had given him up for adoption when he was just a baby, using the exact wording that she did not want him. Somehow she fought to get him back (probably for the welfare money) and now he's dead. Why didn't she want him in the first place to only bring him back into an existence of torture and neglect? She witnessed Anthony Bennett punching him and choking him in the weeks leading to his death. She even had no problem leaving the boy in the care of this abusive monster while she waited tables and whatnot. If she was able to leave the home, if only to work she had ample opportunity to report to the authorities that her child was being abused.
In the state of Michigan, failure to report child abuse is a crime. It's a no-brainer that it's a federal crime to fail to report child abuse as well. This, by all intents and purposes, makes Jaimee Chamberlain an accessory to the death of her son. Carnel Chamberlain suffered because his mother did nothing to protect him. First she abandoned him, then she brought him into a world of suffering and, ultimately, death. While Anthony Bennett remains a person of interest, it would be great of the feds put charges on this young woman as well. In fact, it should be demanded that she face charges. It's a crime to refuse to report the masochistic abuse of a child, and that is exactly what she did. Now her son is dead and she should pay the price along with the monster who's in custody.
