Where is Amber Marcia Glatt? The 22-year-old allegedly suffers from recurring bouts of amnesia, and this time she has practically vanished off the face of the Earth. Her boyfriend, 20-year-old Andy Mushet, reported her missing on Wednesday. He reportedly found a note written by her claiming to have amnesia, signed with her name at the bottom. The strange turn of events in this case is that the missing woman's mother doesn't believe she wrote the note. That immediately creates feelings of heavy suspicion over this case.
Wrap your mind around this for a minute. Have you ever heard of a condition that causes recurring bouts of amnesia? There is a rare and underdiagnosed condition called transient epileptic amnesia, but the family of the missing woman claims that she has focal retrograde amnesia as the result of an injury she suffered in 2010. The mother of the missing woman doesn't seem too in-the-know with her daughter's life as she doesn't even know what kind of injury the girl sustained, and she says Amber doesn't remember it either. Well, gee, that's just grand.
Amber Marcia Glatt was last heard from around 2:00 p.m., while allegedly telling her mother she was on the way to her job at a snow cone shop. However, police say she never made it. The note she left behind (allegedly) claimed that she had amnesia (strange) and she signed her name--something the mother thinks is only possible due to the fact that she has her driver's license on her. However, she claims that the sentence structure, penmanship, and punctuation leads her to believe that her daughter did not write it.
However, police on the case say they believe the note was in fact written by Amber Glatt. This case is just as weird and suspicious as any soap opera, but it's real life. Has anyone considered the possibility that her boyfriend or someone else close to her would write the note as a way to throw investigators off of their tracks? Could she really be missing, or was she the victim of foul play?
