Lennox the dog was killed in Belfast, Ireland by a bunch of inhumane people and a faulty BSL law. Though all eyes are focused on Len, is there already another dog facing the same fate for looking like a pit bull?
While there isn't much information as of yet, it appears as though another dog was seized recently for being one of four banned breeds in the UK. The dog has not been confirmed to be a pit bull but has the look of one so it was taken away from its family -- who could face criminal charges.
According to Lancashire Sgt. Dylan Hrynkow:
"There is a risk that people who ignore the fact that certain breeds are banned will also ignore their responsibilities when it comes to looking after their pet and training it correctly so that it does not pose a threat to members of the public, either through injury or intimidation.
"The dog will be examined to determine what type it is.
"If it is not a banned breed of dog then it will be returned to its owner. If it is banned dog, officers will investigate the circumstances around the dog and owner and a decision will be made regarding what offences have been committed and whether to prosecute the owner in either criminal or civil courts."
Sounds a whole lot like Lennox all over again, doesn't it?
Police just storm into your home, take your dog based on its looks and make you wonder if you really live in a free country.
Of course, there is not much to go on, so this dog could be owned by someone with bad intentions, but either way it is sad that another dog will most likely face the same fate as Len just for their breed.
Every day, across the globe, dogs are subjected to faulty BSL laws, where they are not rated on their personality or aggressiveness but for how they look. When will the madness stop? When will the world stop killing innocent dogs just because they look like they could harm someone?
Lennox was the first dog to capture the world's attention and shed light on the BSL laws.
But, will the world continue to fight for the others like him who are seized every day for no reason but their looks?
