Alex Sullivan is still missing 18 hours after the devastating massacre in a Colorado theater. The young man's father, Tom Sullivan, has attracted a great deal of media attention after he began passing out flyers with his missing son's picture on it begging for information. The elder Sullivan was at the Gateway High School along with other family members waiting to hear about their loved ones' fate where he was heard shouting, "Find my son."
Unfortunately, for the Sullivan family, they have been forced to wait in agony for news about their son. The outlook is grim, but any parent would hold on to every last thread of hope until there is no denying the sad truth. Alex's car is still in the parking lot of the theater, confirming he was, in fact, inside the theater when James Holmes went on his bloody rampage. The young bartender has not answered his cell phone either.
Alex was thrilled to be celebrating his 27th birthday with the midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises. His old high school friend, Bryan Beard, is waiting with Tom Sullivan at the school, but is already beginning to accept what has yet to be said. Beard expresses his anguish, "There is a reason why he has not responded."
Police are still processing the scene, and notifications have yet to be made. It has to feel like an eternity to those waiting to hear about a friend or loved one's fate. The Sullivans are not the only ones waiting to hear. There are several other families who are anxiously waiting. In an earlier press conference, police admitted there were 10 deceased victims inside the theater.
There is still a chance Alex Sullivan was injured and taken to a hospital for treatment. Although the family has searched all area hospitals, they are hoping his name fell through the cracks. Hopefully, this is the case and the family will get their reunion. If it turns out Alex was one of the fatally shot moviegoers, one can only hope the family will get the notification, so they can begin the grieving process.
