For those who wonder how seriously the government plans to counter possible alien attacks, the ABC News report in the video below is a real eye opener. An entire chapter of a new firefighter emergency response manual covers what to do in the event of an attack by unidentified flying objects and aliens from another planet.
Taking the possibility of alien attack very seriously, chapter 13 of FEMA's "Fire Officer's Guide To Disaster Control," titled "Enemy Attack And UFO Potential," outlines what first responders may encounter in the event Earth's first contact is of the unfriendly kind.

Discussing radio meltdowns, overwhelming technological advantages, and the current state of planetary defense, this is not being treated as a joke any more.
The ABC News report below consults with firefighters in the field and an investigator with the Mutual UFO Network, an organization which documents the ever-increasing rise in sightings all around the world.
The thinking is, if it does happen, why not be prepared?
Makes perfect sense.

Tom, you need to make fewer posts and spend more time on those you do write up. I've been giving your blog a look but you need to filter out the weak and crappy stories, focus and those of genuine interest. Elsewise, you'll soon be ignored like The Examiner.
> I'm just reporting on what I find.
Repeating is not reporting. Re-posting is fine, but if you want to call it reporting, you have to look into the factual integrity of the story, otherwise, it's just gossip.
> I'm on a pace for 3 million hits this year alone
Exactly. You pass along every sensational piece of junk out there -- you produce quantity not quality. You entertain your readers with sensation but you don't educate them about the issue.
Do better.
Do facts not matter to you?
I'm sorry, you HAD answered my question: yes, indeed, facts don't matter to you.
It's a book. Show your evidence that any first responders are using it.
> why bother training emergency personnel
What training? Show your evidence.
See, Tom, right there you make two false assumptions. From them, you imply the government believes there's a threat. You don't know that. You're inflating a book that you don't know if anyone even uses into some kind of soft disclosure.
> Where is your body of work? I'd like to read some of it and make prissy pronouncements
First, get your own research right. Then maybe you'll gain the competence to critique others.
You think facts are "prissy." You call making mistakes "success." You state people who respect facts have a "clouded" view.
Grownups are on the Internet too. If you can't deal with that, get a successful paper route.
