Dark Knight gunman James Holmes was possessed by Satan during his awful rampage, a Catholic priest from South Carolina is claiming.
If the Batman shooter was in the throes of a demonic possession, it might explain his strange behavior in the aftermath.
Jail employees have said the former PhD candidate wanders around the detention facility, claiming to have no notion why he's there. According to paranormal experts, people can have their entire memories erased if their souls have been infested by dark forces.
"Something happened to the mild-mannered science geek. He turned into a monster. Something twisted in his mind and heart, and Evil made an entry," Rev. Dwight Longenecker said. "Demonic infestation is a rare, strange, and terrible psycho-spiritual affliction. In simple terms, a malevolent, separate intelligence infests the mind and spirit of a person."
What is your opinion? What do you believe drove Holmes to shoot up an entire movie theater during a Dark Knight screening in Aurora, CO?
Rev. Longenecker is entitled to his opinion, but at the end of the day, it doesn't matter what the shooter's motivation was for committing this massacre. Because of Holmes' sick and evil actions, 12 people are now dead, and scores of others will have to cope with the memories of the event for the rest of their lives.

I think, as usual, the media is going to milk this for ratings, and they will do whatever is needed to get those ratings. The most disgusting example is showing pictures on TV of those who jumped from buildings on 911. People need to let this work its way into and through the court system and stop trying to determine his mentality on what we hear from the media. Personally, I don't care if his dog told him to do it; he should be held accountable for his actions.
But even more, what REALLY matters is that the people whose lives were touched by the events of that horrible day be given all the resources needed to heal--both physically and emotionally--and to live the best possible lives they can in the aftermath of the devastation.
However, schizophrenia--for which Holmes may have been receiving psychiatric treatment--is a condition that may absolve an individual of criminal behavior.
The case could be recognized, in the final verdict, as, "guilty, but insane."
There are times when schizophrenic patients have visions and thoughts that are related to Evil.
There are many people, out there, who wish to condemn those who point out that an individual, such as Holmes, may not be responsible, criminally, for his crimes--because the crimes are so horrific that we refuse to see any of the extenuating circumstances.
If, however, Holmes is faking it, that is a totally different matter.
But he, apparently, was seeing a psychiatrist for a psychiatric condition--and, it appears that the practitioner specialized in schizophrenia.
This entire tragedy really challenges everyone's tolerance and everyone's patience to examine the complex issues.
"She turned me into a newt"
"A newt?!?"
"Well....... I got better."
Clearly Holmes suffered from a disorder of some kind: either Schizophrenia, or sociopathic tendencies, most likely.
This does not seem to be a case in which the shooter was responding to abuse or bullying by acting out his rage. It seems rather motiveless- which is what makes me think that schizophrenia is the most likely explanation.
In the year 1400, Schizophrenic symptoms were probably generally seen as conclusive evidence of demonic possession. But this is supposed to be the year 2012.....
sheesh.
James Holmes was Possessed by the Devil
Jim, just curious, but would you know if the Catholic Priest who discovered this Devil in James Holmes, has indicated whether or not Mr. Holmes' Devil, is the same Devil which all those Catholic Priest are possessed with everytime one of them rape a child in their care - Or - is it the other Devil who possesses the Church's Hierarchy who do everything possible to cover up the crime of child molestation, ending with transfering the Devil to another parish so he can rape children all over again -Or - is this a totally new Devil altogether ???
Leave it to the Catholic Heirarchy to determine that no one is actually guilty of any crime because the Devil made them do it. Wonder, under Catholic Doctrine what sentence this Devil possessed young man is suppose to suffer for the crimes the Devil made him commit ?
I would imagine that in keeping with the Catholic tradition, something in the realm of (1) confessing his sins to a Priest (2) saying aloud 3 Hail Marys and (3) reciting the Rosary Prayers 6 times would be sufficient enough punishment to declare him absolved of all sin and thereby allow him to return to society a new sinless young man. I believe that proceedure is called Exorcism of the Devil from one's body, just like as is done with those lovable pedophile Catholic Priest.
the devil made me shoot up the Aurora theater
I think Flip Wilson said it best: "The devil made me buy this dress"
I also think that Jim Kane's post was a cynical attempt to get a reaction and some comments by saying something ridiculous. and dang it, I fell right into it.

A fan of Flip Wilson, you're telling your age. Loved the man's comedy myself.
