Searches for Pfc. Kelli Bordeaux will continue on Saturday with volunteers, but it doesn't seem like there is a positive end in sight for this case. The pretty blonde army medic vanished almost four months ago after leaving Froggy Bottoms bar with a registered sex offender she had met the prior week. He's in jail, along with the owner of the bar, but investigators refuse to acknowledge whether or not the men are connected to her disappearance. This also comes during a time of many other similar disappearances that remain unsolved.
A short drive away from the disappearance point of Kelli Bordeaux, Heather Hodges vanished without a trace as well. Her boyfriend reported her missing, claiming that he went to a local Dairy Queen to get her something but when he returned she was gone. Police believe foul play was involved in the disappearance of Heather Hodges, but investigators on the Bordeaux case haven't gone as far as to say similar things. Prior to these two disappearances, Holly Bobo vanished from Darden, Tennessee. Before that, Paige Johnson vanished. These are all beautiful blonde women in the southern United States, and they are all missing without positive endings in sight.
Could Kelli's disappearance be at all related to the ones mentioned above? Could there be a serial predator in the region? It's not unlikely, especially since the man allegedly responsible for the disappearance and murder of Mickey Shunick might also be a serial predator himself. Brandon Scott Lavergne is also accused of the 1999 murder of Lisa Pate, and police found assorted women's IDs in his possession after his arrest. They were most likely trophies.
Hopefully Saturday's search for Kelli pan out successfully. If volunteers don't find her remains, hopefully they find clothing or other items of interest that lead to more updates in this case. Otherwise, it seems as though this case is going to go dead cold like so many others.
