Elizabeth Collins turns 9 tomorrow. She has been missing nearly three weeks, along with her 10-year-old cousin, Lyric Cook-Morrissey. They were last seen on July 13th, leaving their grandmother's house to go on a bike ride. Later that day, their bikes and Elizabeth's purse were found near Meyers Lake in Evansdale, Iowa. There has been speculation that Lyric's parents' drug activities have something to do with the girls' disappearance. It has also been brought to public attention that the girl's uncle recently suffered a drug overdose and has been acting strange.
A Cupcakes of Hope event has been organized by Poyner Elementary school to thank all the people and businesses who have donated supplies and spent time searching for the two little girls. Plans call for over 600 cupcakes, to be decorated by students and delivered by adults.
How can two young girls just disappear? It's pretty clear that someone has taken them, but to where? For what? And for how long? School will be starting soon, and these girls not being in attendance will surely be noticed.
If you have any information about the whereabouts of these young, innocent girls, authorities urge you to call 319-232-6682. There is a $50,000 reward being offered for information leading to their whereabouts. There is still hope that the girls will be returned, safe and sound. Happy Birthday, Elizabeth!
