Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy divided a nation of chicken lovers when he made it clear that his corporation does not support gay marriage.
His declaration of bigotry led to angry LGBT Americans and their supporters speaking out against the company, and because of this backlash, Mike Huckabee felt the need to defend the poor, defenseless billion-dollar company by calling for the nation to spend August 1st celebrating its delicious waffle fries and the delightful way it is selling discrimination.
Across America, families suffer because they
can't afford health insurance; because they've lost loved ones who fought for their country; or because they're members of the growing number of disabled. And just recently the nation suffered one of the worst mass-shootings in its history. But forget all of that - America really needs to rally behind a fast-food restaurant. When you think of just how addicted America is to fast food, then it kind of makes sense.
For those upset about Mike Huckabee helping to line the pockets of Dan Cathy's family even more by calling for America to eat at their restaurant, you might want to head over to your nearest Chick-fil-A Friday to take part in "national same-sex kiss day."
According to CNN, Gay activists are encouraging same-sex couples to peacefully protest the restaurant's stance on gay marriage by making out in protest this Friday. Couples are encouraged to post photos of their kisses at the restaurants on Twitter, Facebook, etc. Perhaps the hope is that national same-sex kiss day will gross out all the homophobic patrons of the restaurants so much that they can't enjoy their Polynesian sauce.
Obviously Dan Cathy and every other American out there is entitled to free speech, but was his company really deserving of its own special day? And do you think it's sad that so many felt the need to support the super-successful businessman by shoveling their faces and relishing their hate for a harmless group of people?
Hopefully Dan takes some of the extra cash courtesy of Huckabee and pays for a better education for those poor spelling-challenged spokescows.

I believe this because I know that there are people who have grudgingly supported the LGBT community, not because they believe in same sex marriage nor homosexuality it's self, because in actuality, they don't believe in either. But, solely because they believe in the right of freedom from discrimination guaranteed to all American citizens by the Bill of Rights within the U.S. Constitution and that of the Civil Rights Act.
The case in fact, being, that for some of those people who's moral and/or religious ideology does not allow them to believe in homosexuality, may ultimately decide that their inner emotions and personally held moral ideology, in this instance, trumps their belief in the rights afforded to others by the Constitution. Consequently, dropping their support for the rights of the Gay and Lesbian community as a direct result of the LGBT Kiss Day being scheduled to be held at resturants where they take their children for lunch.
What I am saying, is, if those people preceive that any of those Constitutional rights are in some way interferring with the values they are teaching to their children, they will choose their long instilled family values over the rights of others and thereby, drop their support for the LGBT community in a heartbeat.
