Is anyone legitimately surprised? There are people who will defend anyone for anything. People defended George Zimmerman when he shot Trayvon Martin, people defend cops when they beat and arrest people for first amendment protected protest, and people will defend James Holmes for murdering 12 people in a crowded theater full of witnesses. In short, people are stupid.

Based upon facts and evidence that have surfaced since the initial reporting of this story on the mainstreet news - I cant say without a doubt that Holmes was the one dressed in that riot outfit. That couldve been anyone. The police found him near his car not wearing any of that stuff, but it was strewn around the ground nearby and a rapid fire rifle over near the exit. What's really a mystery is why another gas mask is about 40 or 50 yards away laying out on the parking lot way down by the back corner of the theatre?? Police reported he was in a state of capricious giddiness playing with evidence bags as puppets, wide-eyed, dazed and detached. That doesnt sound like someone who had just meticulously executed a well thought out massacre. Even in the court room he looks like someone who is as shocked as the rest of us about this tragedy, and doubly shocked to discover that he's the one everybody is saying did it. there's some things that dont gel here. There was a camera located on the rear of the theater, but they wont let us see what it picked up.

Again - thats circumstantial evidence. That could have been done by anyone. And why would he even admit to police that his apartment is boobytrapped if he's out on a maniacal killing spree??? Show me proof! I want bonafide beyond shadow of doubt evidence. No one has any - for or against. Everybody is going on mainstreet reporting, which already been proven to have started this story off with disinformation regarding what he was wearing when arrested, and what his mother said. And now the notebook mysteriously shows up??? Thats the same exact scenario as the Mohammad Atta and the Venus Flying Circus 9/11 fiasco where the briefcase with damning evidence mysteriously shows up and has a notebook in it with stick drawings, or some semblance of, just like Holmes notebook??? Are you certain they have the right person? Then show me the proof. Everything I see so far is too ambiguous and could very well be connected to people who have an agenda, powerful people - and an agenda that has something to do with gun ownership rights. A vote on small arms ownership is on radar for next week in the UN - meaning the UN will have the power over US soveriegnty to outlaw gun ownership.

Of course all we have to go on is the media. Where else would we be getting the information. If you want to see the evidence, you'll have to watch the trial. Yes, you can say he is being "tried" in the media, but his fate will be decided in a courtroom, with a judge, and if he chooses, a jury. The evidence I've heard sounds pretty strong, but of course I haven't actually witnessed the evidence. By your post, I suspect you will be against a conviction unless you actually see the evidence first hand. Fortunately, the law does not go by your standards for conviction. You don't have to be shown the proof, the jury does. This evidence needs to convince the jury beyond a reasonable doubt, not "beyond a shadow of doubt" as you require. The attorneys will continue to build the case as evidence is gathered and examined. They are not stating they currently have enough to convict, only that they have enough to hold him for the time being. Personally, I'm glad he's off the streets, as I suspect he is guilty. Btw, there is no reason to believe a perpetrator would not be wide eyed, dazed, and detached, as you imply. In fact, whether a perpetrator or a victim, he has just been involved in a traumatic event, which can cause trauma symptoms even if he was the shooter. He also may have been in a psychotic state, which can also cause unusual symptoms. My hunch is that the police got the right guy, who is probably experiencing an early psychosis due to developing schizophrenia. However, this is just a guess, and the court will have to make the decision based on the evidence they have, which is much more substantial than the evidence shown by the media.

He was found by it and did not resist arrest.

Just think about all the other tragedies. Columbine, Virginia Tech. They killed themselves.
James LOVED what he did and wanted to see the aftermath.
James Holmes was seeing a psychiatrist and she alterted threat assessment team. They didn't do anything because he withdrew from the school. He purchased guns, amunition, and swat gear through his name. We will see everything is court.
It is a mistery on why he told the police about his apartment, but it could be because he got caught and he got scared(unlikely) or when he got caught he wanted to brag(more likely.) but we don't know what is in his mind.

well i hope you misses are right. I hope we get a chance to follow how this turns out. And I hope all the hype is true and Holmes had a maniacal time bomb ticking away in him and he's the one lone wolf, as he's been labeled, and they got the right culprit. So far all Ive seen is embellished sensationalism, he bought all these weapons, he boobytrapped his apartment, he had pics of batman in his apartment, he doodled stick figures of blasting a movie theater in a notebook and sent it to his psychiatrist - (who never bothered to open it until several days after the tragedy), He was attired in full tilt combat gear, helmet and gas mask (which thats not how the police found him).But I havent seen one pic anywhere that he was dressed like that. I havent heard one gun and ammo vendor step forward and say - yep, that's the guy that came in a couple of months ago and bought these weapons, or receipts or where he got the money to buy all these weapons. Just a bunch of sensationalism, and everybody just going along and believing everything.

The FBI plants a fake bomb then befriends this guy and dupes him into pressing the button to blow up the tree lighting ceremony and kill a bunch of people. Then the FBI walks away patting themselves on the back for having saved a lot of peoples lives in the nick of time and got a terrorist off the streets. I couldnt believe what I was reading! The FBI set the whole thing up then grabs some kid and dupes him into going along with them as though theyre a bunch of hooligans.

I doubt many people read the article - But they did see the headline and the broadcast on TV - sensationalizing a terrorist on the loose about to act. So, what happened to this guy. I never had a chance to follow it, or hear what he may have had to say about this incident. It was all swept away and forgotten - but the title and big bold headline remains in everybody's head. Objective achieved!

Yes, I hope you misses are right and we get a chance to follow this case. I hope they put the trial on TV and on the internet so we can follow how it unfolds. But since the judge has now put the case under locks to the public, it looks like the case is going to go the same way as the Xmas tree bomber - but everyone will remember the big bold sensationalized headlines and the original disinfo from the TV broadcasts, and their minds will have been made up for them. A big sensational brainwashing. And no one ever will know the truth of this matter or who went into that theatre and executed this plan. They'll just assume. These are the same things that went on in George Orwell's novel '1984.' Powerful people controlling the government and media pulling off terrorist attacks on their own citizens, sensationalizing it in the media, and then justifying more government security measures. In this case it's that 2nd gas mask laying out there way down at the other end of the back parking lot that grabs me. It just doesnt belong there. I hope to hear a logical explanation for it being there so far from everything else.

I like how you can't manage to follow up without derogatory gender comments. "You misses" as if the only reason we disagree with your conspiracy theory is because we are unthinking females. The truth is, your arguments are useless. When told of evidence, you imply that it was planted. If you don't hear of evidence, they have nothing and it's all circumstantial. He's just a poor innocent scapegoat. The thing is, some people do go crazy. They snap, and nobody really knows when it will happen, or what the consequences will be. It might suit your agenda to say that this is just a big conspiracy, but that doesn't make it so. You're suddenly afraid that this will effect gun regulation, and you can't stand that. It may effect gun regulation, but whether or not it does, that doesn't make him innocent. One thing you can be sure of, he has an attorney who will do everything possible to shed doubt on the evidence. His attorney has a doctorate in law, has practice in analyzing and critiquing evidence, and I can assure you, she's quite a bit more intelligent than you are. She will actually see the evidence, and refute it if there is any basis to do so. My suspicion is that the evidence that they have the shooter is so strong she probably won't even try to refute that. The only thing in question is likely to be the suspect's mental health. To do something like that, he certainly has some severe mental disorder. The question as to his guilt or innocence will be "Was he able to tell right from wrong when he committed the crime?". If it can be shown that he believed what he was doing was right, then he will likely spend the rest of his life in a hospital for the criminally insane. Either way, he does not have my pity. My heart goes to the victims of this tragedy, and to their families.

He was nothing more than a psycho. If there were a hint of reason why he would pick that theater, the movie playing in it and the premier whether good or bad, then he would be easy to understand like any other common criminal. But like the character he tried to play, he was difficult to understand, the shooting, plus the bombs were meant to be unpredictable to fit in with his fantasy of becoming the Joker. The pointless killing, the unpredictable threats. Even when he surrendered to the cops. He wanted to them to know it was him, much like how Joker leaves either a trademark or makes sure his face is seen by a security camera. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if the bombs in his house isn't the only trick he has. Notice how there is a growing support too? He loves the attention. He might have gotten the appearence slightly wrong, but every action he has commited was dedicated to transforming into the Joker. In court where he looks "drugged" was an ac act. He was nodding off as if he was bored what the judge had to say and was saying get on with it. I talked with a good friend who has seen things like this. Any other crook or mental patient in his position would either be scared or pay attention even killers like Manson or Bundy didn't nod off during their court appearance.

Prosecutors wantin to see the notebook that has no postage information, the USPS has no knowledge of, and FBI says they just happened to see it lying around at the university when they found it, and the university themselves says they too were unaware that it even was on their premises. Many people have expressed the need to keep the guns out of the hands of those who are believed to be mentally unstable. Maybe we have found the beginning of that list. Those that support this idiot scare me.

His father was reportedly instrumental in using an algorithm that found evidence of the LIBOR scandal and was scheduled to testify about it in D.C. soon.

A random number of my friends knew this soon after the incident, but following up on this is something I have not been able to do.

His father also has had something to do with the scores that have employers and others are now searching regarding the credit on individuals.

Maybe somebody here will be better able to find more information on this.
