Hobby Lobby is a Christian-owned company (run by a family) that has been in business since the 1960s. It's a hobbyist megastore that caters to arts-and-craft enthusiasts of all walks of life, and it's certainly better than some of the other so-called craft shops. That's why it comes as a major relief to see the company release a statement that contrasts against the owner of Chick-fil-A. While Christian "values" are kind of a farce compared to what's expected of followers in the very scripture they follow, not all Christians are bigoted like Dan Cathy and his supporters. Not all followers of the biblical deity hide behind their religion as a tool of hatred and ignorance.
Hobby Lobby president Debra Love released a statement yesterday after being bombarded with calls requesting information on their stance in this controversial uproar. It's a breath of fresh air to read the following:
"After numerous calls asking for comment, we believe that we need to clarify our position, especially since we are known as a Christian-based company. Our core values call for respect for each other, our customers and our suppliers and for us to treat others as we would best like to be treated ourselves. We believe that we must demonstrate love for our fellow man as we are called upon to do as Christians. We respect our employees by offering a workplace that is free of judgment and bias, and one that gives everyone an opportunity to succeed and grow."
In short: This company does not discriminate based on sexual preference or for any other reason. This company has no desire to reach out to certain groups for their business, and that's an excellent thing. Certainly this is a reason to celebrate and buy some crafting supplies to show your support for companies that respect the nine million Americans (estimate) who identify as being part of the LGBT community.

Have a good one.
In fact – Chick-Fil-A released a statement similar to the one released by Hobby Lobby shortly after the LGBT began the boycott of the restaurant: “The Chick-fil-A culture and service tradition in our restaurants is to treat every person with honor, dignity and respect – regardless of their belief, race, creed, sexual orientation or gender. We will continue this tradition in the over 1,600 Restaurants run by independent Owner/Operators. Going forward, our intent is to leave the policy debate over same-sex marriage to the government and political arena. Chick-fil-A is a family-owned and family-led company serving the communities in which it operates. From the day Truett Cathy started the company, he began applying biblically-based principles to managing his business. For example, we believe that closing on Sundays, operating debt-free and devoting a percentage of our profits back to our communities are what make us a stronger company and Chick-fil-A family. Our mission is simple: to serve great food, provide genuine hospitality and have a positive influence on all who come in contact with Chick-fil-A.”
Sounds to me like it’s the LGBT community that is doing the discriminating based on sexual preference.
And that is the old testament. According to the "christians" you're in the new covenant now and jesus said NOTHING about homosexuality.
Also, if you pay attention to anything, the boycott isn't over him having an opinion. It's over him donating money to to organizations that lobby FOR Uganda's "Killy the gays" law.
We simply do not want our money going to people who want to execute people for being gay in other countries. It doesn't matter what his idiotic opinion is.
pay attention.
And anyone who supports him, is blindingly supporting those very causes. Period.
and I know that Dan Cathy had no idea that was happening and if he had, he would never had donated it to them the first place.
and how do you "know" this? seems like you're trying to justice his hatred, bigotry and support for murder of homosexuals, and people with HIV (any people, women and children included) google it.
And I understand it's always rough when your heroes turn out to be bigots who support the murder of thousands.
And with that, I'll leave you with the following verses from your holy book, where the murder of non-believers is commanded:
Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel. (Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)
You should not let a sorceress live. (Exodus 22:17 NAB)
If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives. (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)
A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death. (Leviticus 20:27 NAB)
If a man commits adultery with another man's wife, both the man and the woman must be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10 NLT)
A priest's daughter who loses her honor by committing fornication and thereby dishonors her father also, shall be burned to death. (Leviticus 21:9 NAB)
Whoever sacrifices to any god, except the Lord alone, shall be doomed. (Exodus 22:19 NAB)
They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)
Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)
If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. (Deuteronomy 13:7-12 NAB)
Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and posses the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants. (Isaiah 14:21 NAB)
Cursed be he who does the Lords work remissly, cursed he who holds back his sword from blood. (Jeremiah 48:10 NAB)
A curious book, that bible, you might want to read it sometime.
Matthew 19
3 Some Pharisees came to him to test him. They asked, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any and every reason?”
4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’[a] 5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’[b]? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
7 “Why then,” they asked, “did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?”
8 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. 9 I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”
