A video on YouTube shows what the witness claims is a UFO appearing, then disappearing from the night skies over Abingdon, Virginia. The object is brightly lit and shaped like an orb, but it's very hard to make out exactly what it is.
The YouTuber who made the video is convinced, however, that what he's videotaping over the rooftops around his home is an unidentified flying object, not any known aircraft.
It's hard to tell from this still photo of the flashing object, but it does seem to get dimmer, as though it is flying away. That would seem to rule out a star, planet or the Moon. Suddenly, the object does completely disappear from view.
Of course, rather than an Unidentified Flying Object, it could be a passing airplane. The interesting feature of this video is the absolute certainty by the witness that this object is not any kind of aircraft he's ever seen flying near his home in a densely populated area with lots of air traffic day and night.

He meant August 6, which was last night. And he was mistaken about the ISS. It made a pass over Abington, VA, rising at 9:50 PM, passing almost straight over head, and entering the Earth's shadow at 9:59 PM while 9° above the horizon.
