The homeless man whose face was chewed off by "Miami zombie" Rudy Eugene, is now talking. Ronald Poppo gave police remarkable insight into the cannibal attack Memorial Day weekend.
Poppo's description of the cannibal incident is extremely gross, as you can imagine, so you might not want to eat before you read it. But, he fills in many of the blanks people have wondered about.
Although this man was blinded, he bizarrely doesn't sound very angry at Eugene. Would you be this matter-of-fact about someone who gnawed off half of your face? Nevertheless, it's hard not to feel a great of sympathy for Poppo. He's obviously had a very rough existence, and now must live forever without the use of his eyes.
In the interview, Poppo said Eugene accused of him stealing his Bible, and was ticked off that he couldn't "score" at the beach, whatever that means.
"He just went and turned berserk. He apparently didn't have a good day at the beach and he - he was coming back. And I guess he took it out, took it out on me or something," the Miami zombie victim stated. "He just started to scream. He must have been souped up on something."
The interview was very informative about the "zombie" incident, but there still are many questions yet to be answered. For instance, how did both men wind up naked? Also, Poppo seemed confused about certain details, which may mean he was either drunk or high on drugs at the time.
