Middle-distance runner Leo Manzano disgraced himself and America by waving the Mexican flag, after snagging a silver medal at the London Olympics.
Manzano achieved a tremendous accomplishment for American track and field, by winning the first American 1,500 meters racing medal since 1968. Indeed, it was a very proud moment for the United States.
But, he sullied the occasion by carrying both the Stars and Stripes, and the green, white and red symbol of Mexico. You can view the shocking photo of his Olympic celebration here.
How do his team members feel about this action? And, why were the United States women's soccer team savaged for wearing Nike T-shirts, but Manzano is given a pass for flying the colors of another country?
By flying the Mexican flag, he insults the nation which provided him the opportunity to be an Olympic athlete. In fact, he may never have realized his athletic potential, if he remained in his former country.
Although the midde-distance runner's cultural roots are in Mexico, every naturalized citizen renounces fealty to other nations. What was Manzano's point in waving the Mexican Flag in front of the world?

There is a rule that says an Athlete who competes in the Olympics can only wear sanctioned clothes or footwear by sponsors if Nike T-shirts were not sanctioned by the Olympic committee then rightly they should be brought to book about it.

Dual Citizenship: The U.S. government allows dual citizenship. United States law recognizes U.S. Dual Citizenship, but the U.S. government does not encourage it is as a matter of policy due to the problems that may arise from it. It is important to understand that a foreign citizen does NOT lose his or her citizenship when becoming a U.S. citizen. An individual that becomes a U.S. citizen through naturalization may keep his or her original citizenship. However, as some countries do not recognize dual citizenship, it is important to consider it carefully before applying.
No need to thank me just remember next time to think before putting foot in big mouth.
