The body of Rebecca Ryan was confirmed to had been found in the Vulcan Materials Quarry on Saturday, and the cause of death indicates that the young woman fell to her demise. While on the surface it seems as though this was a terrible accident, details given by the family of the once-missing woman indicate she could have been suicidal.
She had been missing from her Racine home since Tuesday when her remains were discovered in the quarry, which was not far from her home. The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner confirmed that the cause of death was the result of multiple blunt-force injuries consistent with that of a fall. It's also believed that her body had been in the quarry for at least a couple of days. While the medical examiner is still waiting for toxicology results, it's probably safe to speculate that suicidal ideology could have played a role in this young woman's death.
The mother of Rebecca Ryan claims that the missing woman had struggled with "paranoid tendencies" and "detachment issues." She was also not on any medication, nor did she ever seek out help for her mental and emotional issues. She alleges that her daughter had been having a hard time sleeping, going several days without any rest. She was trying to convince her to get help, but to no avail. This is simply a shame because mental illnesses affect many Americans, women in particular. Her conditions could have been treatable and if they did in fact lead to her demise, it's all the more saddening. This was a young life cut far too short.
