The August 15 Powerball jackpot is enormous now. The Powerball winning numbers are worth $320 million already, with that numbers possibly growing by the time the live drawing takes place on Wednesday night (August 15).
According to the Powerball website, there was no jackpot winner in the Saturday drawing (August 11), allowing the prize level to grow even more. This has caused a rush of consumers to begin buying up tickets, making workers at convenience stores and gas stations put in a lot of extra work selling tickets.
The estimated jackpot of $320 million works out to a cash value of $213.3 million, which would be a very nice lump sum payment for anyone to receive. Sure, the taxes alone will probably eat up half the jackpot if someone gets the winning numbers, but that's a small price to pay for over $100 million heading straight into your bank account.
If no winner is announced on the Wednesday telecast (August 15), then the jackpot will increase again for another drawing on Saturday night (August 18). It's scary to think just how big those numbers could get with the rush of ticket sales already taking place in the first half of this week.
