A teen who had been reported missing two years ago was rescued this week after she fled from a home where she was being kept captive. If that isn't disturbing enough, it's been reported that she was forced to have a child with the man who was holding her against her will. This is a truly horrific story, but it goes on the list of longterm missing cases that come to a positive end, along with the disappearance of Jaycee Dugard and, to a lesser degree, the alleged kidnapping of Elizabeth Smart.
Her name is not being released (yet), but it's good news to know that police stormed the home in question where the child she was forced to carry and birth was removed. The captor was also arrested along with his mother—who helped in keeping the teen from escaping for the past two years. Sadly, police had listed the girl as a runaway in April of 2010, when she was actually being held against her will in a home not too far from where she vanished.
The girl, who is probably around 17 years old right now, claims that she was continually beaten and sexually assaulted by the 24-year-old man who was holding her against her will. She claims that she was forced to give people a false name and false information about herself whenever something would arise, like doctor's visits or when she gave birth to the child.
On the flipside of this strange and horrific case, neighbors in the area claim to have seen the girl come in and out of the house freely, never giving off any alarm that she was being abused or there against her will. One neighbor told the media that she didn't believe the "missing girl" was being held against her will at the house at all.
Could this whole thing be a hoax perpetrated by a runaway who had finally had enough of her adult boyfriend and his mother? Or is she telling the truth? This is just a horrific story all the way around, so there is no telling—and apparently police are holding out on releasing the identification of everyone involved for good reason. A thorough investigation is necessary in order to be sure the teenager is even telling the truth!

Now, about this most recent case: there is no way this teenager gave birth in a hospital without giving the hospital staff some kind of identification. Did her captors have fake IDs ready? Did they use someone else's SS number? She would have had to prove who she was somehow just to get her child's name on a birth certificate.
Definitely sounds like she ran away and had a change of heart.
