The video was posted in April and, so far, has half a million hits. But the story is starting to get national coverage because, if it is a fake, it's a very good one.
In the clip below an unidentified ATV rider is videotaping some off-roading fun when suddenly, a big, hairy, upright-running beast sprints across the road and disappears into the dense foliage.
The video certainly looks spontaneous. There's the sound of the engine running and the camera is decent enough for any home movie enthusiast. When the alleged Bigfoot makes his appearance, the driver stops and quickly turns around without a word.
It seems that most people would at least have uttered some kind of "WTF!?" profanity, but this witness just hightails it out without a bleep. The short segment stops abruptly, but the tail end of the clip includes a slowed down version which helps to see the cryptid a little better.
Like all of these sighting videos, the action is blurry and it all happens too fast. And, like many of them, the creature itself just looks like a guy in an ape suit.
Is it the hurdler's Olympic form which gives it away? Does Sasquatch run the 220 low's to stay in shape?
Or is it the lack of any kind of real reaction by the witness? The better hoaxers like to minimalize the bad acting. It just gives it all away too readily.
Still, it has taken months for this supposed sighting to gain some real steam, so maybe there is something to it after all.
Here's the video:
