The Ayla Reynolds case appears to be going nowhere with her disappearance being over eight months old and no arrests have been made. Detectives with the Maine State Police have long suspected foul play, especially with the discovery of the child's blood in her father's basement, but no arrests have been made. Why? While the detectives and other players in this case have been dead silent for weeks, it seems that the only people who are pulling for public awareness of this missing child are various individuals in the public as well as missing persons groups.
LostNMissing is pushing for awareness of this missing child by hosting a motorcycle ride for her -- though attendees are welcomed to walk or drive other vehicles through Maine as well for her. The event will include a barbecue at the Big Moose Harley-Davidson in Portland, but will span throughout the state as well. This is expected to take place on Saturday at around 1:00 p.m., so hopefully there will be a big turnout of visitors and participants. There is no word yet on whether or not Justin DiPietro will attend, but he's been absent during most of the events held in his missing daughter's memory; no surprise there.
Hopefully detectives will continue working on this case, even if they have fallen silent over the past several months. It's just upsetting that the media coverage of this child's tragic "disappearance" has dwindled. Meanwhile her mother is in shambles over not being able to see her daughter. Trista Reynolds has been pushing for awareness of Ayla's disappearance for months, and certainly with this lack of coverage she must feel like it's her against the world right now.
Where is Ayla Reynolds? Detectives have reason to believe she is dead, and Trista Reynolds claimed at one point that investigators found more than a cupful of her blood in the basement of Justin DiPietro. So where could her body be? There is truly no telling. The river and other bodies of water have been diligently searched to no avail.
