Many players are probably wondering, "Did anyone win the September 7 Mega Millions jackpot?" The sad news is that no one matched all six lottery numbers for the $105,000,000 grand prize. That doesn't mean that everyone is unhappy with their prize winnings though.
Three (3) California Mega Millions winners struck it big in Friday's drawing! The standard prize for matching five out of six lottery numbers, but not the Mega Ball number is $250,000. Unfortunately for them, in California, Mega Millions prize amounts are pari-mutuel, and varies depending on ticket sales, which means the three California lottery winners will only receive $131,799 each. The lucky tickets were sold at Primm Valley Lotto, Nipton, California; Belvedere Liquor, Santee, California; and Pinewood Petrol, Tujunga California.
Three (3) additional Match 5 + 0 winning tickets were sold for $250,000 each. The lottery winners also matched five out of six Mega Millions winning numbers, but not the Mega Ball number, and purchased their tickets from the Indiana Lottery, New York Lottery, and Texas Lottery commissions for the September 7 drawing. If these player purchased Megaplier tickets, their prize will normally increase to $1,000,000!
There were also thirty-three (33) Match 4 + 1 winners for $10,000 each. If any of these winners purchased Megaplier tickets for an extra dollar, they'll be thrilled when they learn their prize winnings will be instantly multiplied by the Megaplier number of 4 to $40,000 instead!
When Is the Next Mega Millions Drawing?
Don't miss the next Mega Millions drawing on September 11, 2012 at 11:00 p.m. EDT. Because no one won Friday's jackpot, next Tuesday's estimated jackpot has grown to a whopping $120,000,000 annuity, or $92,000,000 cash-value before taxes. Mega Millions winning numbers are drawn Tuesday and Friday evenings at WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia. Tickets are sold in 42 states plus the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
