Mother of Megan Sharpton Terrified of Man

The mother of Ericka Megan Sharpton claims that there is a particular person of interest in their small Tennessee town who has made contact with her family. She is "terrified" of the man, claiming that the contact he made with the mother of the slain teen has been "threatening." The name of this person isn't being released due to the integrity of the investigation, but it's apparent this person has the slain girl's family concerned.

Ericka Megan Sharpton was found dead on the side of a rural road in a grassy area. She had been beaten to death and her body set on fire in a display of depravity that has residents of the area chilled to the bone. If this person of interest is the one responsible for the horrific murder of the 24-year-old woman, then it's surprising that he hasn't yet been arrested. The mother of the murdered woman feels the same way. She can't understand why the guy hasn't been arrested.

Everyone in the little town of Tullahoma is holding this case close to their chests, but why? Is it because of how small of a town it is? It seems that small town mentalities either try to protect their own or hide details to protect the reputation of the area. Anytime a gruesome case like this pops up in the headlines out of Tennessee or another southern region, it seems that the details are quickly sealed and names are very seldom released. Will any of this help in the murder of Ericka Sharpton, or is it only going to hinder justice?

Chelsea: I don't understand why many people in many cities of Tennessee are so shy. They don't even talk about politics. That's why there are no occupy protests in this state. You know I read in the book "Untimely Medidations" by the philosopher Nietzsche. Where he claimed that the people and society of Germany of the late 1800s were very quiet, and silent. And he claimed that silence is really a trait of rebellion and anger. One theory of why many people in Tennessee are so quiet and shy is that their ancestors might have been from Germany.

Another theory on the reason of why the people of Tennessee are so anti-social is that there is not much oportunity for people to socialize in this state. There are no parties, no social events, no music concerts, there are no collective activities in this state. And if you in a place without social life, sooner or later would become an anti-social shy person. Because humans behave according to the society and place in which they live. Humans are influenced by the philosophy of life of the society in which they live.

But like you said, people must and should expose all the problems and talk about the missing abducted girls like Holly Bobo and this girl. Because as long as people are silent there won't be any solution for this and other problems
