Details in the missing Iowa cousins are being released about their last known sighting. With it being two months since they vanished, this new news couldn't have come at a better time. Apparently the grandmother was not the last person to see the two girls, so this adds a whole element to the case.
The last sighting of Elizabeth Collins and Lyric Cook was around 12:23 p.m., near Elizabeth's home on Brovan Boulevard. They were again sighted on Gilbert Drive near Meyers Lake between 12:30 and 1:00 p.m.
It was just a couple hours later that their bicycles and other belongings were found at Meyers Lake near a recreation trail. It's been long believed by the FBI that a vehicle was used to abduct the girls. This makes more sense than someone on foot, due to the quick timeline and lack of any other evidence. However, there do appear to be homes in the area and it seems like it would be possible for one of the inhabitants to lure a child or two into the homes without using a vehicle.
It's such a shame that missing Iowa cousins Lyric Cook and Elizabeth Collins haven't yet been found. With the two-month-mark being done, leading into the potential of a third month it feels like it's becoming more and more unlikely that the two girls won't be found alive.
