Fetal abduction suspect Annette Morales-Rodriguez recently dropped the insanity plea she was originally pushing. Now as her murder trial looms near she is instead taking a 'not guilty' plea, but that probably isn't going to work out for her. It's also being revealed that the court ordered evaluations of this woman couldn't substantiate that she was legally insane or incompetent to stand her own trial, so it looks like she was pushed into this.
Now she thinks she's going to win her freedom the old-fashioned way of defending herself against the overwhelming evidence against her. Annette Morales-Rodriguez is accused of something that is one of the rarer types of crimes out there—the act of forcefully removing a fetus from a pregnant woman to pose as one's own child.
In the case of this woman, she allegedly stalked a pregnant woman, beat her to death and then cut the fetus out of her body with an X-Acto knife. Unfortunately, the fetus died as a result of the death of his murdered mother. The trauma of everything was too much for him. She then pretended that she gave birth to the child while calling paramedics to report the boy unresponsive. The worst part of the story is that she had "scratched up" her own genitals to make it look like she had suffered trauma of childbirth. Professionals saw through that very quickly. That's why the woman pictured above has been charged with two counts of first degree murder.
