Missing Alabama teen Ailene Lander has been spotted with her kidnappers in East Texas. This comes a day after the vehicle used by her stepdad to abduct her was discovered. What will come of this missing teen's case? Will the family make it to Mexico as they are apparently planning, or will the FBI be successful in capturing them?
A pastor who saw the missing girl and her abductors (mother and father) claims that she didn't look to be under any distress. This indicates that her "kidnapping" isn't exactly involuntary. However, the pastor (who was "too busy" to do anything about the sighting) said that he believes Ailene Lander is in serious danger. The stepfather who abducted her, along with her several siblings, mother and dog, are traveling together in a stolen minivan.
It hasn't been confirmed by authorities, but sources close to the missing teen say she is pregnant. The FBI says that she is medically endangered, but because of her age they can't reveal the status of any medical conditions she may suffer. With pregnancy being a medical condition, it's likely that that's what's going on.
Hopefully the FBI can get agents around the border to intercept their path. The parents had no legal right to this young girl, even though they apparently do with their other children. Here's to hoping she is found and they are charged.
