Steven Deuman Orally Raped Infant Daughter to Death

Twenty-six-year-old Steven Deuman was convicted this week of first degree murder and aggravated sexual assault. He hasn't been sentenced yet, but he's facing life without parole—and that's the least of what he deserves. What did he do? He committed a crime so horrific that it is difficult to write about it and even more difficult to discuss it. Certainly the people who have investigated this crime, and those in the courtroom, had a very difficult time with the evidence against him.

Fifteen-week-old Evelynne Deuman was found dead last year in her father's home, but the circumstances surrounding how she found, and how she died, were frightening. She had a condom in her mouth that was full of her father's DNA.

Steven Deuman claimed that the little girl, barely past three-months-old, rolled out of bed and somehow sucked up a used condom that was on the floor, but this intricate story didn't work to his defense. It was proven in court that he had orally raped the child until she died of asphyxiation.

Hopefully he gets the harshest sentence available for this unforgivable crime. The little girl never stood a chance, never had a chance to grow into a sentient child. Of course, with a father like Deuman, it's probably fortunate that she did not. At least at the age of three months old, little Evelynne wasn't aware of what her father was doing that was killing her. That's at least something.
