Police have revealed the existence of a violent St. Louis street gang, "The Obama Boyz," who have obviously named themselves after the 44th president of the United States. Yikes!
Did these thugs draw inspiration from the "Van Buren Boys" from Seinfeld? The fictional gang was named after the eighth president, Martin Van Buren, the first man from New York to win the White House.
Members used a secret hand sign in which eight of their digits protruded, and attacked Jason' Alexander's character "George" at the end of the show, because he pretended to be an alumnus of the crew. That was hilarious, but this St. Louis group is no laughing matter.
Anthony Jamal Lee, 18, is accused of shooting from a car into a group of people, striking two teens with bullets. Police said Lee is a "documented member" of the "Obama Boyz," whatever that means. Lee also allegedly fired into a Grand Prix, grazing a passenger in the back. Authorities charged the thug with a slew of crimes, and set a $100,000 cash bail.
Once this story gets reported in the national media, it's going to be pretty embarrassing for the White House. Who wants to have their name associated with violent street thugs? And, why did the Obama Boyz choose that name?
