On October 2 two witnesses were amazed to see a UFO shaped like a triangle floating above them as they got off a freeway in Michigan.
It all happened in East Lansing at 11:33 p.m. The friends had just exited the freeway from Shaftsburg heading towards a McDonald's when they stopped for a red light.
The Examiner reports that one witness stated, "There was a bright light in the sky above McDonald's, but we didn't immediately think anything of it. Evin points it out and says it looks weird. I ask if there is a tower in that area, but still even so, the light is too bright. It's a triangle of three white lights and that's all that it appears to be at first."
They proceeded to another red light when they noticed that the craft came down about 100 - 200 feet and then headed in a northwest direction.
Unlike most unidentified flying objects this one made a slight humming sound. Most other witnesses report that there's no noise whatsoever from the crafts they've seen.
The two friends then said that they saw a smaller, red light on the bottom of the craft blinking like an airplane. They tried to follow the object but it went behind some trees and then went out of sight.
Michigan is a current Unidentified Flying Object 3 rating, with a high number of sightings nationally. Michigan had 37 reports in September 2012—the 4th highest reporting state. California, the highest reporting state, had 69.
So what was flying over Lansing that night? Was it really a UFO or just an airplane?
It's hard to tell what's going on in the skies. There have been a recent increase of flying object sightings but could some of them be nothing more than over-anxious people wanting to see something so badly that they misinterpret helicopters, planes, or even balloons as a flying saucer? There must also be a fair amount of witnesses who haven't really spotted anything at all and just report they did to get some attention.
And with all these flying objects speeding about the skies why hasn't any of them landed? It would be nice to have some real proof of the existence of flying crafts instead of sightings at night of flashing lights in the distance. But, then again, anything is possible.
Keep those eyes to the skies because something could be flying above.
