What would you do if a UFO hovered over your family home for four hours? A family in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland lived in terror as this happened to them.
Morag Ritchie woke up at 2:00 a.m. and noticed flickering and rotating lights above her rural home.
According to the Huffington Post she said, "I saw what I thought was a bright star. However, it was a sequence of flashing lights. There was also a darting light coming from the side. There was no sound, either."
Of course the first thing she did was to wake her family. The group watched as moving lights blinked in, out, and around the hovering object. It remained over the home for four hours.
The craft didn't make a sound and just hung over the house. But there were times the family saw as many as five different lights turning on and off around its perimeter. The witnesses were able to record the movements on video.
Mrs. Ritchie attempted to go back to bed but couldn't fall asleep in fear of that odd object floating above her family's heads.
This went on for quite a few hours but the craft eventually left as the sun came up. It was just gone.
A Civil Aviation Authority spokesman, Richard Taylor, said, "We have no way of knowing what aircrafts were around that area at that time. There was a lot of activity with the northern lights—the natural phenomenon—wouldn't that be a more feasible explanation than an aircraft or an unidentified flying object? If it was an aircraft, it would have been military."
Leave it to the government to tell a group of people who had looked at a strange hovering craft for as long as four hours that they're eyes were lying to them. There might have been lights flashing in and around the object but that doesn't mean that the explanation is northern lights. And, if it was an aircraft, as Taylor states it might have been, wouldn't there have been some kind of noise from an engine?
The Ritchie family did not see a soundless, non-moving aircraft floating over their home. The answer to sightings of these strange objects are not always a natural phenomenon either. It's the easy way out to tell witnesses that all they saw was a weather balloon or the northern lights.
Why won't the governments and the military tell people what's really going on? There are way too many UFO sightings for them to be explained away as a bad dream or telling people that they didn't see what they did see.
Take a look at the video. Do those lights look like the northern lights?
Keep those eyes to the skies because something could be flying above.
