A mass shooting has occurred by a mall in suburban Milwaukee. At least seven people were wounded. The shooting was by a spa, and the shooter is still on the loose.
The shooting took place at the Azana Salon and Spa by the mall; where the local news referred to the area as a "mass casualty" situation, noting that the scene is not secured, as reported by USAToday. The shootings took place around 11:00 am local time sunday morning.
Ten agents from the FBI are involved, according to the report, and four shooting victims were taken to the local hospital, with three more expected to follow. Another story notes that the FBI declined to say how many agents are on the ground, so there seem to be fuzzy and contradictory details. Of course, the scene must be chaotic at this point, as details emerge.
The four people initially brought to the hospital are in critical condition, as reported by NBCChicago. This is the second large-scale shooting in Wisconsin this year.
In Late September, MotherJones published a "Mass Shootings Map," with the inevitable hand wringing regarding gun-control. The story reports that since 1982, there have been at least 61 such shootings in the United States.
No discussion was had about the various stories where guns carried by responsible citizens saved lives.
One thing is for sure, there is a manhunt for the shooter. He is described as a "dark-skinned man, 6-2 and 210 pounds, wearing a gray sweater and blue jeans, carrying a white and black backpack and driving a 2003 Mazda Protégé." Hopefully, the victims of this tragedy and their families will be healed; and the attacker will be brought to justice.
